McTaggart Construction is looking for a Scaffolder Part 2 (Man in Attendance) to join our team at Linglie Road, Selkirk. If you are a experienced scaffolder, take pride in working safely and enjoy being part of a busy site team, this could be a good match for you.
You’ll play an important role in supporting scaffold operations on site, helping ensure scaffolding structures are erected, maintained and inspected safely while supporting the successful delivery of our affordable housing projects.
What you’ll do
- Erect, modify and dismantle scaffolding structures.
- Carry out inspections of scaffolding materials and equipment, reporting any issues or defects.
- Set out materials and scaffold layouts safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all scaffolding works are completed in line with current regulations and safe working practices.
- Support and guide Part 1 Scaffolders and labourers on site.
- Work closely with Site Managers, subcontractors and other trades.
- Attend site meetings and provide input on scaffolding-related matters.
- Report any safety concerns, issues or incidents promptly.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Carry out hop-up movements and ensure scaffolds are left in a safe condition.
- Complete statutory seven-day scaffold inspections when required.
- Support with general site duties during quieter periods.
What we’re looking for
- Significant scaffolding experience within the construction industry.
- CISRS Blue Scaffolder Card.
- CSCS Card.
- Experience working with Cuplok and Kwikstage scaffold systems.
- Good understanding of scaffolding regulations, safe working practices and health and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret scaffold drawings and designs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to supervise and support junior scaffolders.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
- First Aid, Manual Handling and Fire Awareness training would be beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence would be beneficial.
