Two Decades of Dedication: McTaggart Construction Celebrates Four Long-Serving Members of Staff

McTaggart Construction, one of Scotland’s leading affordable housing contractors, is celebrating a remarkable milestone as four long-serving members of staff mark their 20th anniversaries with the company, all in the same year the business celebrates its own 80th anniversary.

Office Manager Kim Easton, Payroll Manager Lorraine Brackenridge, Site Manager Allan Russell and Contracts Manager Tom McCombe each joined McTaggart Construction in 2006 and together represent 80 years of combined service, a fitting reflection of the company’s own milestone as it marks eight decades in business since its founding in 1946.

Across the business, from head office to its construction sites, the four colleagues have each played a significant role in shaping the company’s growth, culture and reputation within the Scottish housing sector.

Kim Easton joined the company as an administrator in 2006 and has since progressed to office manager. Reflecting on her time with the business, Kim said: “I feel incredibly lucky to have reached 20 years at McTaggart Construction. I’ve grown as a person whilst the company has grown too, and I’m proud of all it has achieved”.

Lorraine Brackenridge joined as an accounts assistant in 2006 and progressed to payroll manager after the construction company she previously worked for went into liquidation. She said: “Joining McTaggart was the best thing I could have done. I can’t imagine not being here with all the gang”.

Allan Russell began his career with McTaggart Construction as an apprentice straight from school in 2006 and is now site manager. He said: “Reaching 20 years is something I’m really proud of. It’s been a rewarding journey and one I’m very grateful for”.

Tom McCombe joined as site manager in 2006, and was promoted to contracts manager in 2015. Drawn to the company’s reputation as a well-established, family-run business. He said: “Two decades on, I’m still proud to be part of McTaggart Construction. It reflects the strength of the company and the positive working environment that has kept me here”.

Janice Russell, Managing Director, said:

“The people around us are what make McTaggart Construction the company it is, and to have Kim, Lorraine, Allan and Tom each celebrating 20 years in the same year is special. We are a business built on loyalty, trust and long-term relationships, and these four individuals embody exactly that. We are absolutely delighted to recognise their commitment and dedication, particularly in a year that means so much to us”.

Rosslyn Anderson, Director, added:

“In 80 years of building homes and communities, our values as a company have never changed. What has always mattered most is our people. Kim, Lorraine, Allan and Tom joined us two decades ago and have been part of our story ever since, through periods of growth and change, and through the various challenges along the way.  As a family business, we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate their 20 years alongside our own 80th. Thank you, from all of us”.

As McTaggart Construction marks its own 80th anniversary this year, the combined milestone reached by Kim, Lorraine, Allan and Tom reflects the loyalty and family values that have shaped the business since 1946, and which continue to drive it forward today.
