We’re getting ready to start work at Cleddans in Kirkintilloch, where we’ll be building 50 new Passivhaus homes for social rent for East Dunbartonshire Council.
The homes will be delivered in partnership with Hub West Scotland, and we’re looking forward to seeing them take shape over the coming months.
Financial close reached
Financial close has now been achieved for the project, which is the next site in East Dunbartonshire Council’s Affordable Housing Investment Programme Phase 2 (AHIP2). The programme is delivering new affordable homes across the area, and Cleddans is the latest step forward.
Warm, efficient family homes
All 50 homes will be built to Passivhaus standard and independently certified. Passivhaus homes are designed with high levels of insulation, airtight construction and controlled ventilation, so they need very little energy to heat. For tenants, that means comfortable homes that are cheaper to run.
Benefits for the local community
Alongside the new homes, the project will create local jobs, apprenticeships and training opportunities. We’ll be sharing more on this as work gets underway.
Working together
We’re looking forward to working with East Dunbartonshire Council and Hub West Scotland to deliver these homes for the local community.
We’ll also be working alongside the design team of Coltart Earley Architects, Carbon Futures, Dougall Baillie Associates, DWA, Hawthorn Boyle and Langmuir & Hay, with ECD Architects as Passivhaus Certifier.
