Willox Park shortlisted for Herald Property Award

Willox Park shortlisted for Herald Property Award

We’re delighted to share that Willox Park has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Innovation in Sustainable Construction and Design category at this year’s Herald Property Awards for Scotland.

The shortlisting comes after energy consultants Carbon Futures put the project forward, recognising the work that’s gone into its sustainability credentials from the outset.

Willox Park delivers 17 fully wheelchair-accessible, age-friendly homes on a brownfield site in Dumbarton, bringing a former care home site back into productive use. A high-performance building fabric, ground source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels and MVHR systems combine to achieve net zero direct emissions, helping tackle fuel poverty for residents on fixed incomes. The scheme also achieves Platinum Aspect 1 under Scottish Technical Standards and meets Housing for Varying Needs standards, alongside a net biodiversity gain in line with NPF4 – replacing low-value grassland with wildflower planting, native trees and pollinator habitat.

It’s a nomination we’re especially proud of, as Willox Park has already picked up two award wins to date. Being shortlisted for a third feels like real recognition of the team’s consistent commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable social housing.

We’d like to thank Carbon Futures for their support in putting the project forward, and everyone across the team, from design through to delivery, whose work has helped shape the Willox Park development.

The Herald Property Awards for Scotland winners will be announced next month.
