McTaggart Construction marked its 80th anniversary on Saturday with a hospitality day for staff at the Ayr Gold Cup.
Colleagues from across the business came together at Ayr Racecourse for an afternoon of racing, hospitality, and celebration, marking eight decades since the company was founded in 1946.
Away from the pressures of site and office, the day gave colleagues, many of whom don’t often cross paths, the chance to catch up together. For a company built on the work of its people, it was a fitting way to mark the occasion.
Reaching an 80th anniversary is no small achievement, and McTaggart Construction was keen to recognise the site teams and office staff whose hard work and commitment have driven that success. The Ayr Gold Cup day was one way of saying thank you.

The Ayr Gold Cup day forms part of a series of events McTaggart Construction has held throughout 2026 to celebrate its 80th anniversary, recognising the contribution of staff to the company’s growth from its founding in 1946 to its position today delivering social and affordable housing across Scotland.
